A CNC punching machine is a machine tool that uses a digital control system to accurately control the punching process. It is mainly based on the principle of electrospark machining (EDM). During the machining process, the tool electrode (usually a copper electrode or a graphite electrode) and the workpiece are connected to the two poles of a pulse power supply. When the distance between the two poles approaches a certain degree, the insulating medium (such as spark oil) between the electrode and the workpiece is broken down, forming a discharge channel. In a very short time, the current density in the channel is extremely high, generating a large amount of heat energy, causing the workpiece material to partially melt and gasify. The eroded material is discharged from the machining area under the explosive force of the discharge and the flushing of the liquid medium. The electrode is continuously fed to the workpiece, and this is repeated, and finally the required hole is machined on the workpiece.
Recently, an Algerian terminal customer consulted about CNC punching machine processing the mounting holes of automobile fuel injectors. The processing accuracy of these holes directly affects the performance and reliability of the engine. For example, the diameter and angle accuracy of the fuel injector hole will affect the fuel injection effect, thereby affecting the power output and fuel economy of the engine.
The customer provided a workpiece processing hole diameter of 2mm, and the required size of the workbench was about 450*700mm. 1.Preparation:
(1) Install the fuel injector on the workbench of the CNC punching machine to ensure that its position is accurate and stable.
(2) Select a suitable electrode according to the material and size of the fuel injector. The diameter and shape of the electrode should match the requirements of the installation hole.
(3) Adjust the parameters of the CNC punching machine, such as discharge current, discharge time, pulse interval, etc., to ensure processing quality and efficiency.
2.Programming:
(1) Use the programming software of the CNC punching machine to write the processing program according to the design requirements of the fuel injector installation hole.
(2) During the programming process, it is necessary to specify the processing path, depth, hole diameter and other parameters.
(3) You can use CAD/CAM software to import the design drawings of the fuel injector into the programming software to improve the accuracy and efficiency of programming.
3.Tool setting:
(1) Move the electrode to the top of the fuel injector and adjust the distance between the electrode and the fuel injector to ensure the accuracy of the discharge machining.
(2) Use the tool setting function of the CNC punching machine to contact the electrode with the surface of the fuel injector to determine the starting position of the machining.
4.Machining:
(1) Start the CNC punching machine and start machining the fuel injector mounting hole.
(2) During the machining process, the CNC punching machine will control the movement and discharge of the electrode according to the machining program to achieve the machining of the fuel injector mounting hole.
(3) The machining process can be observed in real time through the monitoring system of the CNC punching machine to ensure the machining quality and safety.
